Mt. Vernon House

This project unites an existing home with a carefully considered Craftsman-inspired renovation. Proportion and rhythm guide the design, preserving the original scale while extending its presence through tapered columns, gable trusses, and finely detailed trim. The result is a building that balances openness with intimacy, light with shadow, and tradition with renewal.

Layered with restraint, the new work integrates seamlessly into the old, maintaining a clear dialogue between past and present. The home now offers a calm, spacious environment that feels both rooted in its history and prepared to support the evolving needs of its inhabitants.
